Struggle Well With Life

"When we long for life without difficulties, remind us that oaks are grown strong in contrary winds and diamonds are made under pressure." ~Peter Marshall (1902-1949)

Anxiety
Burden
Care
Fear
Hassle
Strain
Stress
Tension
Trauma

Worry
 ... and the antidote?

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns], once and for all, on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully.

Miracle to Miracle

"I have adopted the technique of living life from miracle to miracle." ~Arthur Rubinstein (1887-1982)

MIRACLES- by definition- an event, thing, or accomplishment that it appears

  • both surprising and welcome that is not explicable by natural or scientific laws and is therefore considered to be the work of a divine agency
  • contrary to the established laws of nature and attributed to a supernatural cause
  • amazing or wonderful
  • extraordinary manifesting divine intervention in human affairs
  • extremely outstanding or unusual
  • inexplicable by the laws of nature and so is held to be supernatural in origin or an act of God

How marvelous! Be filled with the wonder that all around you are miracles, waiting to be discovered, used, or simply enjoyed as a moment of beautiful and bountiful creation.

Learning - Knot a Problem

"We learn the rope of life by untying the knots" ~ Jean Toomer

There is a fabulous book for children entitled 'Knots on a Counting Rope'. It creates the opposite scenario- creating knots for memory, thereby adding on, not subtracting. Both analogies have merit.

Too true...

Momentum

"Momentum is tomorrow's starting pitcher." - Earl Weaver

"Success comes from taking the initiative and following up...persisting...eloquently expressing the depth of your love. What simple action could you take today to produce a new momentum toward success in your life?" Tony Robbins

So, what then is momentum? Is it ethereal.. something for tomorrow- a plan or idea...OR is it a set of actions to produce a moment? In simple definition, it is a force causing movement.

In the balance of the two thoughts above, I err on the side of baseball.  Consider a ship at sea- Momentum can easily be dashed upon the rocks, stuck in the doldrums, or propelled by strong seas. Let momentum be renewed every day.

"Be glad of life because it gives you the chance to love, and to work, and to play, and to look up at the stars." ~Henry Van Dyke (1852-1933)

How to create a mind map | Publication Coach

How to create a mind map | Publication Coach

a new start (this, too, shall pass)

“And the king wanted an inscription good for a thousand years and after that to the end of the world?”
“Yes, precisely so.”
“Something so true and awful that no matter what happened it would stand?”
“Yes, exactly that.”
“Something no matter who spit on it or laughed at it there it would stand and nothing would change it?”
“Yes, that was what the king ordered his wise men to write.”
“And what did they write?”
“Five words: THIS TOO SHALL PASS AWAY.”

Carl Sandburg, The People, Yes
